Center Valley, PA (January 23, 2019) - The #18/21 DeSales University women's basketball team returned to action winning its 10th straight game, 73-44, over Eastern University to stay unbeaten in MAC Freedom play on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
- DeSales started quickly yet again scoring the first seven points of the game and had leads of 12-2 and 23-9, before out-scoring the Eagles, 26-11, in the first quarter.
- Eastern pulled to within 11 points at the 6:50 mark of the second quarter before the Bulldogs held the Eagles without a point the rest of the half and took a 16-0 run into the locker room for a 46-19 lead.
- DSU then struggled shooting the ball in the third quarter hitting just 4-for-14 but rebounded in the fourth quarter, out-scoring Eastern by five to post the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Freshman Samantha Shinkus finished with a game-high 20 points, hitting five 3's in the win.
- Fellow freshman Averi Jordan recoreded her second double-double of the year with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
- Senior Morgan Birmelin finished with 10 points, nine assists, and four steals.
- Freshman Rylie Rittenhouse came off the bench to score 11 points and grab seven boards.
For the Foes
- Brianna Young-Harris led Eastern with 14 points.
- Minika Glenn came off the pine to scored 12 points and Da'Naziah Brown added 11 points.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales finished the game shooting 46.0 percent from the field.
- The Bulldogs forced 23 turnovers leading to 24 points and out-scored Eastern, 34-14, in the paint.
