Matt Kachelries fell one poiny shy of a career-high netting 25 points to lead the DeSales University men's basketball team past King's College, 87-76, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- Leading 16-14 eight minutes into the game, DSU used a 15-2 run to take a 31-16 lead with 5:13 to go in the half. Freshman Keba Mitchell and junior Julian Wing each had four during the spurt.
- Kachelries and sophomore Mike Bealer then finished the half hitting four 3's as DeSales took a 46-26 advantage into the halftime locker room, shooting 58.1 percent from the field and hitting 9-for-17 from deep in the first-half.
- The lead continued to be 20 (68-48) after a three from Bealer at the 12:29 mark before King's scored eight straight points to pull within 12.
- The Bulldogs answered with a quick 7-0 run, led by five points from senior Luke Connaghan, to lead 75-56 with 7:26 left and never looked back from there holding a double digit cushion the rest of the way.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Kachelries finished with 25 points shooting 7-for-10 from the field and adding four assists.
- Connaghan added 17 points and was just one rebound shy of a double-double, pulling down nine caroms.
- Bealer came off the bench to hit four 3's for 12 points.
- Junior Tracy Simsick finished with 11 points.
For the Foes
- Jake Pawliczak had a team and game-high 25 points shooting 10-for-16 from the field.
- Tyler Milan finished with 22 points and Noah Tanner added 17 tallies.
Inside the Box Score
- The Bulldogs finished the game shooting 51.7 percent from the field.
- DSU hit 15-for-31 from outside the arc.
- DeSales also won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding King's, 41-33.
- The Bulldogs' bench out-scored King's, 28-5.
