Center Valley, PA (January 9, 2019) - The #22 DeSales University women's basketball team rolled past Wilkes University, 86-46, to earn its seventh straight win overall and its 12th straight in Billera Hall in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
- A 10-0 run to finish the first quarter and start the second quarter gave the Bulldogs a 20-8 lead at the 7:55 mark of the second quarter.
- Another 10-0 run later in the second quarter led by 3's from freshman Averi Jordan and Juliana Tritto pushed the advantage up to 21 points (34-13) at the 3:37 mark and DSU took a 42-20 lead into the halftime locker room.
- The lead fell below 20 points on the first bucket of the second-half but never again as DeSales recorded its seventh straight win of the season to stay unbeaten in MAC Freedom play.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Jordan finished the game with a game-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
- Freshman Samantha Shinkus added 13 points, Tritto came off the bench to score 12 points on four treys, and another freshman Rylie Rittenhouse got into double digits with 11 points.
- Senior Morgan Birmelin stuffed the box score with six points, five rebounds, 12 assists, and five blocked shots in just 26 minutes of action.
- Senior Bridget Walsh finished with eight points and 11 rebounds.
For the Foes
- The Colonels got 10 points off the pine from Gianna Roberts as the lone double digit scorer.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales shook off a tough first quarter shooting number to hit 44.7 percent for the game.
- DSU held the Colonels to just 21.7 percent shooting on the night.
- The Bulldogs out-rebounded Wilkes, 49-36, and out-scored WU in the paint, 48-9.
- DeSales committed a season-low seven turnovers and forced 22 Colonel miscues leading to 30 points.
- It is the 43rd consecutive win for the Bulldogs over Wilkes in the all-time series.
