Field Hockey Blanks Immaculata 3-0 Rain Soaked Contest

Immaculata, PA (October 16, 2019) - The DeSales University field hockey team earned its fifth straight win blanking Immaculata University, 3-0, in a rain soaked non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • In a game played in a driving rain storm the entire time, DSU was able to get on the board 1:09 into the second quarter as junior Hannah Williams scored off an assist from senior Madison Brader.
  • Freshman Leah Echard made it 2-0 midway thru the third quarter and freshman Catie McGrath put the final touches on the win with a goal just before the end of the third quarter.

  • Williams' goal was her fourth, while Echard put home her third tally of the year.
  • McGrath scored her team-leading 10th of the season.
  • Senior Julia DeLuca earned an assist on McGrath's goal.
  • Senior Katarina Polyviou had three saves to earn her second shutout of the year.
