Center Valley, PA (October 19, 2019) - Four different players scored goals leading the DeSales University field hockey team past Eastern University, 4-1, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 4, Eastern - 1
• Records: DeSales (9-7, 3-1 MAC Freedom); Eastern (4-10, 1-3 MAC Freedom)
• The win is DSU's sixth straight, one shy of tying the program record of seven straight set during the end of the 2004 season and start of the 2005 season.

How it Happened

• DSU got on the board 5:36 into the game when freshman Catie McGrath scored on the rebound of a saved shot from fellow freshman Tyra Wingle.
• The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead that stood into the half as junior Hannah Williams scored inside the far post after a nice thru pass from freshman Allie Ball.
• Freshman Leah Echard made it a three-goal lead late in the third quarter scoring from right in front of the goal after a nice feed from McGrath.
• EU got on the board with just one second left in the third quarter to cut the margin down to two goals.
• Ball and Williams then reversed roles at the 51:35 mark as Ball scored DSU's fourth of the day on a nice feed from Williams.

Top Bulldog Performers

• The McGrath goal was her team-leading 12th of the year as she also added an assist.
• Williams deposited her fifth of the season, Echard her fourth, and Ball her third in the win.
• Senior Katarina Polyviou made six stops in goal, giving her 119 saves on the year, fifth most in a season all-time.

For the Foes

• Abigail Geisler had EU's goal, assisted by Hailey Ferry.
• Caitlyn Quizon made eight stops in goal.

Inside the Box Score

• DeSales doubled up Eastern in shots, 16-8, and had a slight 8-6 advantage in penalty corners.
