Late Goal Spoils Men's Soccer Comeback in 2-1 Loss at Stevens

Hoboken, NJ (October 22, 2019) - The DeSales University men's soccer team tied the game late but Stevens Institute of Technology scored with 1:10 left to play in a 2-1 win in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday evening.

How it Happened
  • The Ducks took a 1-0 lead just 19 seconds into the second-half breaking a scoreless tie at the half.
  • The Bulldogs tied the game in the 81st minute when junior Mark Stenske sent in a cross into the box that junior Sean Murray headed to the back post where junior Sean Tunney was waiting alone and put away the tying tally inside the near post.
  • The game seemed destined for overtime before Stevens was able to get the game-winner just 1:10 left to play in regulation.

  • The goal was Tunney's third of the year and the second in as many games.
  • Murray and Stenske earned assists on the play.
  • Sophomore Jake Padula made seven saves in goal.
