Scranton, PA (October 26, 2019) - The DeSales University volleyball team split a tri-match at The University of Scranton on Saturday afternoon falling to host Scranton in four sets before defeating Hunter College in five sets.
Match #1 (L/1-3 vs. Scranton - 23-25, 25-13, 25-10, 25-20)
The Bulldogs took the first holding UoS to .022 hitting in the open set, while tallying 14 kills themselves. The Royals rallied with easy wins in the second and third sets. In the fourth, DSU led 19-18, but Scranton won six of the last eight points to take the match in four, 25-20.

Delanie Zohler led the offense with eight kills, hitting .261. SophomoreÂ
Audrey Wolfe totaled 30 assists and seniorÂ
Cristal Fernandez had 15 digs. SophomoreÂ
Georgia Traynor also played well with 12 digs.
Match #2 (W/3-2 vs. Hunter - 25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 20-25, 15-9)
DSU started very strong hitting .267 and .412 in the first and second sets to win easily opening up a 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs struggled slightly in the third and fourth sets as Hunter took advantage with two tight wins, but the Bulldogs had 10 kills and just three errors in the fifth set to win easily and take the match.
Zohler again led the way with 15 kills and hit .233. SeniorÂ
Morghan Shoemaker finished with 12 kills and four blocks, hitting .370, while juniorÂ
Grace Merritt added 11 kills. FreshmanÂ
Caroline Garretson also had eight kills and hit .217.
Wolfe finished with 52 assists and 11 digs. Fernandez had 36 digs, freshman
 McKenzie Brady added four aces and 12 digs, and Traynor had 11 digs.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they host King's College in a MAC Freedom match needing a win to clinch a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason.
