Kweku Dawson-Amoah was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past Alvernia University, 75-72, to take home the Quality Inn Tournament title at Oneonta on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- A back-and-forth first-half saw Alvernia finish the half on a short 8-5 spurt to take a 37-32 lead into the halftime locker room.
- DeSales quickly erased the halftime deficit using a 10-2 run to take a one-point lead early in the second half.
- The game went back-and-forth over the next several minutes as the Golden Wolves clung to a one-point (55-54) advantage with 7:28 left to play.
- Junior Matt Kachelries hit a 3 on DSU's next possession sparking a 13-2 run giving the Bulldogs a commanding 67-57 lead with 4:46 left on a three from senior Alex House.
- It was still a 10-point game after a lay-up from Dawson-Amoah with 31 seconds left before AU hit consecutive layups around a Bulldog turnover and a 3 after DSU missed two FT's to pull within three points with seven seconds left.
- Dawson-Amoah was fouled with 6.2 seconds left but missed both freebies but the Golden Wolves last second attempt saw a pass tipped out of bounds with one tenth of a second left and DSU ran out the clock to survive with the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Dawson-Amoah led DSU with 14 points and six rebounds to earn MVP honors.
- Senior Julian Wing added 13 points, junior Timmy Edwards had 12 points off the bench, and House added 11 tallies.
- Junior Mike Bealer also earned All-Tournament honors after scoring 21 points yesterday, adding four points in the win on Saturday.
For the Foes
- Darnell Ransom had 20 points off the bench to lead the Golden Wolves.
- Malik Green finished with 15 points.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales shot an even 50 percent (27-for-54) from the field in the win.
- The Bulldogs also controlled the glass out-rebounding Alvernia, 39-32.
