Men's Basketball Dominates Glass in 86-65 Win at Rosemont

Bryn Mawr, PA (November 23, 2019) - The DeSales University men's basketball team won its third straight, out-rebounding Rosemont College by 41, in an 86-65 win in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 86, Rosemont - 65

How it Happened
  • The first 10 minutes of the game were back-and-forth as neither team led by more than three until DeSales took control.
  • Leading 25-24 with 9:32 to go after a Raven bucket, the Bulldogs finished the half on a 27-10 run to take command of the game and a 52-34 advantage into the halftime locker room.
  • DSU scored 11 straight points to start the run, taking a 36-24 lead with sophomore Keba Mitchell and junior Timmy Edwards each scoring four points.
  • DeSales was in cruise control in the second-half as the lead never fell below 16 points and peaked at 27 points (85-58) with 2:58 remaining.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Edwards led the Bulldogs with a double-double performance, the first of his career, off the bench with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Senior Kweku Dawson-Amoah added 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds and fellow senior Tracy Simsick had 13 points.
  • Mitchell was also outstanding off the bench finishing with eight points, six rebounds, and four blocks in the win.
For the Foes
  • Zaire Mitchell and Nick Gemmell each had 11 points for the Ravens in the loss.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales enjoyed an incredible 56-15 advantage on the glass including 20 offensive boards leading to 20 second chance points.
  • DSU also scored 50 of it 86 points in the paint.
  • The Bulldogs bench accounted for 47 of the 86 points.
