Annville, PA (November 16, 2019) - Five players scored in double digits leading the #13 DeSales University women's basketball team past Salisbury University, 75-59, in the opening round of the Rinso Marquette Tournament at Lebanon Valley College on Saturday evening.
The Basics
	- Final Score: DeSales - 75, Salisbury - 59

How it Happened
	- Trailing 6-5 early, DSU used a 13-4 run over the final 7:20 of the opening quarter to take an 18-10 lead.  Six different players scored during the spurt.
- The lead swelled to 11 early in the second quarter on a three from sophomore Averi Jordan and was as many as 15 before DSU took a 40-29 advantage into the halftime locker room.
- DSU pushed its lead up to 16 points in the third quarter before the Seagulls got within seven at the 2:51 mark before a three from sophomore Rylie Rittenhouse and a layup from sophomore Samantha Shinkus pushed the margin back up to 12 points as DeSales led by 11 after three quarters of play.
- The advantage never fell below double digits in the fourth quarter and was as many as 19 with 2:26 to go before the final margin was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
	- Shinkus led five players in double digits with 17 points.
- Both Jordan and senior Molly Jansco had 14 points and combined to pull down 14 rebounds.
- Rittenhouse came off the bench to score 13 points and pull down six boards.
- Freshman Maria Newsome added 11 points and had four steals.
For the Foes
	- Kaylee Otlowski led the Seagulls with a game-high 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Inside the Box Score
	- DSU shot 41.3 percent from the field and held SU to just 33.9 percent shooting.
- DeSales dominated the paint out-scoring Salisbury, 41-21, inside the lane.
- The Bulldogs also scored 34 points off 26 Seagull turnovers.
