Center Valley, PA (November 26, 2019) - The #8/9 DeSales University women's basketball team turned around a three-point third quarter defict out-scoring Moravian by six in the fourth quarter to stay unbeaten on the young season with a 74-69 win over one of its local rivals on Tuesday evening in Billera Hall.

- DeSales has now won two straight in the all-time series with Moravian and improves its series record to 25-20 vs. the Greyhounds.
How it Happened
- Two early three-pointers by the Greyhounds gave Moravian an 8-4 lead early and MC continued to lead (18-15) after one quarter of play.
- The advantage grew to as many as eight points late in the second quarter before the Bulldogs finished the half on a 5-0 with sophomore Averi Jordan scoring all five, including a 3 with eight seconds left.
- Moravian was quick out of the halftime locker room opening up its largest lead (9 points) twice with the last coming at 44-35 with 6:44 to go in the quarter.
- MC continued to lead by eight with 2:42 left when the Bulldogs used a 9-1 run over the next 1:51 to tie the score at 52, thanks in part to four points from sophomore Samantha Shinkus.
- Moravian clung to a 54-53 advantage after three and was up three (58-55) with 7:25 to go in the game when DeSales made another run.
- The Bulldogs used a 12-5 spurt over the span of 5:22 to turn a three-point deficit into a four-point lead that included a huge 3 from Jordan, two buckets from freshman Maria Newsome, and two Jordan free throws to cap off the run.
- Moravian got within two twice, but a bucket from senior Molly Jansco and free throws from both Newsome and Jordan capped off the comeback and sealed the home win.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Jordan was terrific recording her second double-double in a row with 26 points and 12 rebounds.
- Jansco finished with a season-high 16 points and pulled down seven boards.
- Newsome added 10 tallies and Shinkus stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, five assists, five steals, and three blocks.
For the Foes
- Nadine Ewald and Maddie Capuano each played very well scoring a team-high 21 points each.
- Kayla Yoegel added 10 points, while Karlie Brogan had nine points, 11 boards, and six helpers.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales took advantage of 20 Moravian turnovers to score 23 points.
- Both teams had 42 points in the paint and rebounds were about even with Moravian totaling a slight 47-45 advantage.
- The Bulldogs were terrific from the line hitting 16-of-22 (72.7%), while the Greyhounds hit just 9-of-20 (45%).
