Stordy Breaks Assist Record Leading Women's Lacrosse to Third Straight Win, 18-4, over Juniata

Center Valley, PA (March 16, 2019) - Sophomore Katie Stordy broke the single-game record for assists and tied the record for points in a game leading the DeSales University women's lacrosse team to its third straight win, 18-4, over Juniata College on Saturday afternoon.

  • The three straight wins is DSU's longest winning streak in team history.
How it Happened
  • DeSales dominated on the offensive end all afternoon scoring the first three goals of the game and seven of the first eight en route to an 8-2 halftime lead.
  • The lead grew to 11-2 before Juniata scored two straight but the Bulldogs finished the game scoring the final seven goals to post the 18-4 final margin.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Stordy finished the game with four goals and a single-game record six assists for a single-game record tying 10 points.  She added a game-high eight ground balls and had four caused turnovers and three draw controls.
  • Freshman Azlin Myers and sophomore Julia Astram each had four goals with Myers adding one assist.
  • Sophomore Eilis McCall totaled three goals and two assists for five points.
  • Freshman Karlie Deeck added two goals and one assist and junior Alyssa Mantzouranis had one goal in the win.
  • Sophomore Rachel Sheubrooks had another strong game in the cage making nine saves.
For the Foes
  • Natalie Gibson finished with three goals to lead the Eagles.
  • Paige Riker had two assists.

  • DeSales had a 30-24 advantage in shots and a slight 23-20 edge in ground balls.
