Second-Half Comeback Extends Men's Lacrosse Win Streak to Eight in 9-7 Win over St. Joseph's (LI)

Glen Head, NY (March 23, 2019) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse scored the last eight goals of the game erasing a 5-0 halftime deficit in a 9-7 win over St. Joseph's College (LI) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

How it Happened
  • St. Joseph's College dominated the first-half scoring the only five goals with three in the first quarter and two in the second quarter to lead 5-0.
  • DeSales finally got on the board 2:14 into the third quarter before the Eagles scored two more to take a 7-1 lead with 7:42 to go in the third quarter.
  • DSU then took over scoring three straight to end the quarter and pull within 7-4 and dominated the fourth quarter scoring five unanswered goals to take home the 9-7 come-from-behind win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Frank Krug had another dominating defensive performance causing eight turnovers and picking up seven ground balls.
  • Sophomore Zach Bowen led the offense with five goals and had four ground balls.
  • Senior Joe Neggia finished with one goal and two assists, while freshman Tom Connors added one goal and one assist.
  • Sophomore Matt Motto equaled Neggia with one goal and two assists, while junior Matt Brown also scored once.
  • Junior Justin Monaghan had two assists and freshman Kai Taylor had one.
  • Senior Matt Barry finished with eight saves.
For the Foes
  • Tim McCann had three goals and one assist.
  • Anthony Passarella added three goals.
