Montclair, NJ (March 24, 2019) - The DeSales University softball team returned to action for the first time in eight days dropping both ends of a non-conference doubleheader at Montclair State University by scores of 5-0 and 7-3.
Game One (L/0-5)
Montclair broke open a scoreless game in the bottom of the fourth inning with two runs and scored two more in the fifth and once in the sixth.
DSU managed just five hits, all singles, in the loss.
FreshmanÂ
Heather Hall suffered the loss allowing four runs over 4 1/3 innings, striking out one.
Game Two (L/3-7)
DeSales took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning as juniorÂ
Erin Redden had an RBI double and sophomoreÂ
Hallie Muffley knocked in Redden.
The Bulldogs led 3-1 after four and a half innings after freshmanÂ
Gianna D'Acunto knocked in sophomoreÂ
Reilly Kerr with a double in the fourth before the Red Hawks scored three times in both the fifth and sixth inning to take control.

Jill Harrison took the loss allowing four runs, one earned, over five innings. Redden finished 3-for-3, accounting for half of DSU's six hits.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host Delaware Valley University in a make-up of Saturday's postponed doubleheader beginning at 5:00 pm.
