Edwardsville, PA (March 30, 2019) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader falling at Wilkes University, 5-1 and 2-0, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.
Game One (L/1-5)
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the third on sacrifice fly from freshmanÂ
Aubree Fritzinger before Wilkes tied the game in the fourth and scored four times in the fifth to post the final margin.
DeSales had just two hits in the game.
Fritzinger took the loss allowing three runs over four innings pitched. SeniorÂ
Leann Panconi and sophomoreÂ
Caitlyn Newsom had DSU's two hits.
Game Two (L/0-2)
Wilkes scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and Gracen Staunton fired a five-hut shutout to complete the sweep.
FreshmanÂ
Heather Hall pitched well despite the loss allowing just four hits over six innings, striking out one.
SophomoreÂ
Kristen Suran had two of the Bulldogs' five hits.
DeSales is right back to action on Tuesday when they host local rival Moravian College in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:30 pm.
