Winter Haven, FL (March 5, 2019) - The DeSales University baseball team opened its spring trip to Winter Haven, FL splitting its first two games on Monday and Tuesday.
Game One (L/11-22 vs. Wartburg)
In an offensive slugfest DeSales led 11-8 thru five innings before Wartburg exploded for a 13-run sixth inning and the Bulldogs were unable to recover in a game called for darkness after eight innings.
The two teams combined for 38 hits.

Frank Licari Jr. had three hits and two RBIs, seniorÂ
Nick White had two hits, two runs scored, and five RBIs, hitting a grand slam home run in the first inning. SeniorÂ

Evan Plummer each had two hits in the loss.
Game Two (W/10-1 vs. PSU-Abington)
JuniorÂ
John Poccia settled down the pitching staff in DSU's second game tossing seven strong innings allowing just eight hits and one run, striking out six to earn his second win of the season.
N. White and seniorÂ
Preston Amato each had three hits in the win. SeniorÂ
Aaron Fritz, Hanczaryk, and Plummer also recorded two hits and Plummer scored three times to lead the offense.
