Softball Wins Fifth Straight with Wins over John Carroll and Widener

Clermont, FL (March 5, 2019) - The DeSales University softball team won two more games on Tuesday afternoon/evening to run its win streak to five straight down in Florida.

Game One (W/13-3 vs. John Carroll)
The Bulldogs were out of the gates quick in this one scoring seven unearned runs in the first inning to take a 7-0 lead and never looked back from there.

Sophomore Aubree Fritzinger earned her second straight win in the circle pitching six strong innings allowing two earned runs and also had two hits and two RBIs in the win.

Sophomore Hallie Muffley added two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs and sophomore Kristen Suran was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs, hitting a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Game Two (W/4-2 vs. Widener)
Freshman Heather Hall tossed a gem in game two allowing just five hits and one earned run over seven innings to lead DeSales past Widener, 4-2.

DSU scored once in the first inning on an RBI double from Muffley, two in the fourth on RBI singles from senior Carly Benjamin and sophomore Caitlyn Newsom, and another run in the sixth on an RBI single from Benjamin.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Thursday when they take on Alvernia University and Penn State Berks.
