Clermont, FL (March 8, 2019) - The DeSales University softball wrapped up its spring break trip to Clermont, FL with two one-run losses to Muhlenberg College and Plymouth State University on Friday.
Game One (L/7-8 vs. Muhlenberg)
The Bulldogs scored three runs in the second and third innings to take a 6-2 lead before the Mules got three back in the bottom of the third inning to get within a run (6-5). Tied at six in the fifth, DSU took a 7-6 lead as freshmanÂ
Gianna D'Acunto scored on a wild pitch but Muhlenberg scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn the 8-7 come from behind win.
Six different players had hits and freshmanÂ
Delaney Smith had two RBIs to lead the offense.
Game Two (L/0-1 vs. Plymouth State University)
PSU scored once in the first inning and that was it for both offenses.
DeSales had just two hits in the game. FreshmanÂ
Heather Hall pitched very well in the loss scattering eight hits over seven innings, striking out two.
The Bulldogs return home and will get back to action on Saturday, March 16th when they host King's College in a MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
