Center Valley, PA (April 10, 2019) - The DeSales University softball split a non-conference doubleheader with Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday afternoon winning game one 2-1, before dropping game two, 4-1 at McGettigan Park.
Game One (W/2-1)
SophomoreÂ
Reilly Kerr knocked in both of DeSales' runs in the game one win with an RBI single in the first and a solo home run in the fourth.
FreshmanÂ
Heather Hall earned the win in the circle pitching six strong innings allowing just six hits and one unearned run. SophomoreÂ
Julia Testagrose pitched a scoreless seventh to earn a save.
Game Two (L/1-4)
The Bulldog led 1-0 on another RBI single from Kerr in the first inning before the Ducks broke thru with two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-1 lead and DSU was unable to recover.
FreshmanÂ
Jill Harrison took the loss allowing two runs over 3 2/3 innings pitched. Testagrose pitched well again tossing three scoreless. JuniorÂ
Erin Redden led the offense with two of DSU's six hits.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they host FDU-Florham in a MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at Noon.
