St. David's, PA (April 17, 2019) - The DeSales University baseball team used a five-run fourth inning to earn a 7-5 win over Eastern University in the first of three games this weekend on Wednesday afternoon in MAC Freedom action.
Eastern led 2-1 after three innings before DeSales exploded for five runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead. SophomoreÂ

Preston Amato all had RBI hits in the big inning.
Both teams added runs in the sixth inning and EU got within two with runs in the bottom of the eighth inning but seniorsÂ
Austin Kroeger andÂ
Felix Martinez Jr. teamed to pitch a perfect ninth inning to save the victory.
JuniorÂ
John Poccia earned his seventh win of the season tossing 7 1/3 strong frames allowing five runs. Martinez Jr. picked up his first career save retiring the final two batters.
Barebo led the offense with three hits, while juniorÂ
Sergio Diaz and freshmanÂ
Johnny Medina each had two hits in the win. All nine starters recorded a hit for DeSales.
DeSales is back in action on Saturday when they host Eastern for games two and three of the season series beginning at 1:00 pm at Weiland Park.
