Center Valley, PA (April 24, 2019) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team stayed unbeaten on the season with a 14-5 win over Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 14, Wilkes - 5
• Records: DeSales (15-0, 6-0 MAC Freedom); Wilkes (8-7, 2-4 MAC Freedom)
• The Bulldogs are now set-up for a showdown with Eastern University on Saturday, who is also unbeaten in MAC Freedom play.  The winner will earn the #1 seed in next week's MAC Freedom postseason tournament.

How it Happened

• Tied at two after one quarter of play, DSU took control in the second quarter scoring the first five goals to take a 7-2 lead and led by four at the halftime break (8-4).
• Wilkes scored the first goal of the third quarter to get within three goals before DeSales put the game away scoring the final five goals of the game.

Top Bulldog Performers

• DSU had a balanced scoring attack led by sophomore Zach Bowen (3g, 1a) and senior Joe Neggia (3g).
• Freshman Tom Connors had one goal and two assists, while junior Justin Monaghan, junior Frank Krug, and sophomore Matt Motto each had one goal and one assist.
• Freshman Timmy Smith and junior Eric Magro each had two goals.
• Freshman Kai Taylor and junior Matt Brown had one assist.
• Krug had another strong performance with six caused turnovers and 10 ground balls.
• Sophomore Colin Corrado won 12-of-19 face-offs.
• Senior Matt Barry made eight saves in the cage.

For the Foes

• Nico Lorenzo and John Wink each had two goals and one assist.
• Ethan Weaver finished with one goal and two assists.
• Carter Whittemore had 21 saves in goal.

• DeSales dominated the stat sheet out-shooting Wilkes, 47-18, and had a 37-17 advantage in ground balls.
