Women's Lacrosse Drops MAC Freedom Opener, 22-10

Center Valley, PA (April 3, 2019) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team ran out of gas falling to Misericordia University, 22-10, in the MAC Freedom opener for both teams on a windy Wednesday afternoon.

The Basics

How it Happened
  • Misericordia started fast taking a 4-2 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game before DeSales dominated the final 20 minutes of the opening half taking an 8-6 lead and led by one (8-7) at the half.
  • The Cougars scored the first four goals of the second-half to erase the goal deficit and took an 11-8 lead.
  • After DeSales got within two goals at the 23:01 mark, MU scored six straight goals to take a 17-9 lead and never looked back from there.

  • Sophomore Katie Stordy was outstanding for DeSales finishing with four goals, two assists, seven ground balls, 11 draw controls, and five caused turnovers.
  • Sophomore Eilis McCall had two goals and one assist.
  • Freshman Azlin Myers and Karlie Deeck each had two goals.
  • Sophomore Rachel Sheubrooks made 11 saves in goal.

  • Kaila Quinlivan had four goals and five assists with six draw controls.
  • Justine Johnson had five goals and an assist for six points.
