Annville, PA (April 7, 2019) - Sophomore
Reilly Kerr went 4-for-5 with two RBIs in game one leading the DeSales University softball team to a doubleheader split at Lebanon Valley College on Sunday afternoon.
Game One (W/6-1)
DSU pounded 15 hits in game one and broke open a scoreless game with two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, and three in the sixth.
Sophomore
Aubree Fritzinger knocked in DSU's first run in the fourth, freshman
Heather Hall had an RBI in the fifth, and Kerr had a two-run triple and sophomore
Caitlyn Newsom an RBI double in the sixth.
Hall earned the win in the circle pitching four strong innings in relief allowing just one run and three hits. Sophomore
Julia Testagrose pitched three scoreless to start the game.
Senior
Leann Panconi had three hits and scored once, and Newsom and freshman
Delaney Smith each had two hits.
Game Two (L/3-4)
Lebanon Valley took advantage of a DeSales error in the seventh inning to push across a single run, breaking a tie at three to salvage a split in the non-conference doubleheader.
DSU had a 2-1 lead after an inning and a half after putting up two runs in the top half of the second inning. DeSales trailed 3-2 entering the fifth when the Bulldogs tied it on an RBI single from Panconi.
Senior
Emma Izzo had two hits to lead the offensive charge in game two.
Freshman
Jill Harrison got the start and pitching four strong innings allowing just five hits and two earned runs. Junior
Shannon Hill took the loss allowing one unearned run over 2 1/3 innings.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they host Stevens Institute of Technology beginning at 3:00 pm.
