Center Valley, PA (September 10, 2019) - The DeSales University field hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision to #6 The College of New Jersey in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

How it Happened

• The Bulldogs were inches away from taking a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute of the game as the Lions keeper made a save on a shot from freshman Catie McGrath and the ensuing rebound was put back towards the cage and looked to be going in before a TCNJ defender made a last second defensive save to keep the game scoreless.
• TCNJ then took advantage scoring just 37 seconds later and in a blink of an eye went 4-0 on four goals by Cayla Andrews 1:11 into the second quarter.
• Trailing 5-0 at the half, DeSales played very well in the second-half, getting one goal back on a penalty stroke in the 44th minute before TCNJ posted the final 6-1 tally.

• Senior Madison Brader had DSU's penalty stroke goal.
• Senior Katarina Polyviou made 15 saves in the loss.

• Andrews scored four times and Camryn Lay and Sara Waldron also scored.
• Kayla Peterson, Tori Tiefenthaler, and Tori Hannah each had assists.
