Huntingdon Valley, PA (September 21, 2019) - The DeSales University field hockey team battled back but fell just short in a comeback bid falling at Juniata College, 5-4, in non-conference action.

How it Happened

• Juniata scored three times in the first quarter to build a 3-0 lead putting the Bulldogs in an early hole.
• DSU battled hard scoring once in the second quarter and once in the third quarter while blanking the Eagles to pull within 3-2 heading into the final quarter.
• JC got two goals early in the fourth to reclaim a three goal lead.
• DeSales got two goals back, the last coming with just 50 seconds left, but were unable to find the tying tally in the loss.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Freshman Catie McGrath and Tyra Wingle both scored goals, the sixth of the season for each player.
• Junior Hannah Williams scored once and senior Madison Brader converted her second stroke of the season late in the game.
• Senior Katarina Polyviou finished with four saves in the loss.

For the Foes

• Olivia Marker had three goals, while Miranda Madara and Grace Alexander also scored.
• Alexander had two assists, Madara and Madison Miller also had assists.
