Center Valley, PA (February 12, 2020) - The DeSales University men's basketball team saw its three-game win streak snapped falling to Stevens, 76-64, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.
The Basics

- The win pushes the Bulldogs down to third place in the MAC Freedom standings with three games left in the regular season, one game behind Stevens and Eastern who are tied at the top with a 9-2 conference mark.
- Earlier in the DSU learned it was ranked #5 in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region regional rankings which were released for the first time this season this afternoon.
How it Happened
- A back-and-forth start to the game saw DSU use a 7-0 run to take a 23-17 lead and continued to lead by five (29-24) with 3:04 to go when the Ducks finished the half on an 11-0 run to take a 35-29 lead into the halftime locker room.
- The Bulldogs scored the first six points of the second-half to tie game but SIT reclaimed a six-point advantage (43-37) with 14 minutes left.
- Stevens led by as many as nine points (63-54) late in the half when DeSales got four straight points from junior Timmy Edwards and a four-point play from freshman Jordan Holmqvist to get within a possession (65-62) with 2:44 to go.
- The Ducks answered with a three-point play on the next possession that led to seven straight points as the lead increased to double digits for the first time all game (72-62) wtih 55 seconds left and the Bulldogs were unable to get any closer.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Edwards continued his strong play scoring a game-high 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field.
- Sophomore Dat Lambert came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points and added four steals.
- Senior Ben Pratt had 10 points and five assists.
- Senior Kweku Dawson-Amoah finished with eight points and 11 rebounds.
For the Foes
- Kevin Florio led the Ducks with 20 points, hitting 5-of-6 from outside the arc.
- Spencer Cook and Alec DiPietrantonio each had 14 points in the win.
Inside the Box Score
- Stevens hit 10-for-21 (47.6%) from three-point land and DSU converted just 8-for-24 (33.3%).
- DeSales won the battle on the boards, 36-32, but Stevens scored 16 second chance points on 11 offensive boards.
