Center Valley, PA (February 18, 2020) - The DeSales University women's basketball team won its 11th straight game, 81-58, over Eastern University in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday evening in Billera Hall to clinch the top seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament next week.

- The win clinches the top spot in the postseason tournament which starts next Wednesday with the semifinals.
- The win is also DSU's 20th of the season, its fourth 20+ win season in the last five years and the 15th under head coach Fred Richter in 30 years on the sidelines.
- The Bulldogs will be making its 23rd straight appearance in the MAC Freedom postseason having never missed the party since joining the conference in 1997-98.
How it Happened
- The Bulldogs never trailed in this one and led for all but 52 seconds opening up a 14-5 lead over the first 5:15 of the first quarter and continued to lead by nine (22-13) after one quarter of play.
- Eastern made a run in the second quarter cutting the margin down to four (26-22) with 3:33 left in the half, but the Bulldogs finished the half on a 10-3 run to take a 36-25 halftime lead.
- DeSales torched the nets in the second-half shooting 15-for-26 (53.6%) over the final tqo quarters and scoring 45 second-half points.
- The lead was as high as 26 points in the third quarter before the Eagles got to within 17 twice in the fourth quarter before the final was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Sophomore Rylie Rittenhouse recorded her second double-double of the year with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore Samantha Shinkus finished with 19 points and senior Molly Jansco had 15 points and three blocks in the win.
- Freshman Megan Bealer was just one point shy of her first career double-double finishing with nine points and 12 rebounds.
For the Foes
- Minika Glenn led the Eagles with 14 points and Jaelyn Harris added 12 tallies as the lone double digit scorers.
Inside the Box Score
- DSU finished the game shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 73.1 percent from the free throw line.
- DeSales won the battle on the glass, 41-31, and had an 18-2 advantage in fast break points.
