Women's Soccer Clinches MAC Freedom Playoff Spot in 6-0 Win over Lycoming

Center Valley, PA (October 23, 2021) - Five different players scored goals leading the DeSales University women's soccer team past Lycoming College, 6-0, clinching a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason in two weeks.

  • It is DSU's seventh straight and 10th overall appearance in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament.
  • The Bulldogs sit all alone in second place with 15 points, three behind Misericordia.
  • The 12 wins are now the fourth most all-time in a single season for DeSales.
How it Happened
  • DeSales needed just 1:14 to get on the board as senior Natalie Dorsheimer scored her third of the season.
  • Junior Allie Trick scored her first of two in the seventh minute and senior Meghan Corbran and junior Meghan Foley scored within 40 seconds of each other late in the half to take a 4-0 halftime lead.
  • Trick added another early in the second half and senior Vanessa Atie got into the act in the 83rd minute to post the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Sophomore Hannah Pacheco recorded her third shutout of the season making four saves.
  • Trick now has a team-high 11 goals on the year and added an assist.
  • Foley had two helpers, while Dorsheimer, Corbran, and sophomores Jordan Lewis and Kerrigan de Meij all had assists in the win.
For the Foes
  • Jess Riordan and Abbey Gerasimoff combined to make 10 saves in the loss.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales dominated possession and the shot chart out-shooting the Warriors, 26-8.
  • The Bulldogs also had a 12-4 advantage in corner kicks.
