Aston, PA (October 30, 2021) - The DeSales University volleyball team wrapped up the regular season splitting two matches at Neumann University on Saturday morning with a win over host Neumann and a loss to Stockton.
Match #1 (W/3-2 vs. Neumann - 20-25, 17-25, 25-12, 25-21, 15-12)
The Bulldogs duf themselves a hole dropping the first two sets before dominating the third set to climb back in the match hitting .300 in the third set.
DSU led nearly the entire way in the fourth set, forcing Neumann into 10 hitting errors in the set to force a fifth set.  The clinching set saw six ties and three lead changes with the Bulldogs totaling nine kills to clinch the come from behind win.
Junior 
Caroline Garretson had 15 kills and hit .316, adding two blocks.  Sophomore 
Shannon McDevitt finished with 12 kills and hit .364, also recording two blocks.
Junior 
McKenzie Brady had 25 digs, sophomore 
Grace Grandinetti totaled 40 assists and had three aces, and first-year 
Mykenah Calder had 15 digs in her return to the lineup.
Match #2 (L/0-3 vs. Stockton - 19-25, 20-25, 13-25)
DSU committed 11 hitting errors in the opening set and were unable to overcome strong hitting numbers by the Ospreys in sets two and three.
Garretson had 11 kills and hit .269, while junior 
Delanie Zohler finished with 13 kills.  Junior 
Austen Brewer had nine kills.
Grandinetti finished with 35 assists and Brady had 19 digs in the loss.

The Bulldogs are the #1 seed and will host the MAC Freedom postseason tournament semifinals on Wednesday awaiting the winner of the #4 (Arcadia) vs. #5 (King's) quarterfinal match.  Match time on Wednesday is set for 7:00 pm.
