Center Valley, PA (November 3, 2021) - The DeSales University volleyball team will begin its quest for a MAC Freedom Championship tonight as the top seeded Bulldogs host the #4 seed Arcadia University in Billera Hall beginning at 7:00 pm.

MAC Freedom Postseason History
The Bulldogs are making their 18th appearance in the MAC Freedom postseason and it is the 14th straight DSU has appeared in the conference postseason.  This is the fourth time DeSales will be the top seed.  The Bulldogs won the MAC Freedom title back in 2007 and own a 12-16 all-time record in the conference postseason.

Series History vs. Arcadia
These two teams have met 17 times with DeSales owning a 14-3 all-time record and an 8-2 mark at home.  This will be just the third meeting since the 2009 season with the Knights having won two of the last three.  DSU took this year's regular season match-up in a hard fought and tight five set match, 3-2, back on September 28th.

Tickets/Ways to Follow Tonight
Spectators are welcome to attend tonight but will be asked to wear a mask indoors per our University's safety protocols.  Tickets will be available at the door and are priced at $5 (Adults), $4 (Sr. Citizens), $2 (students and children).  All children under the age of 6 with an adult are FREE.  All DeSales students will be admitted for free with their ID.

What's Next
The other semifinal on Wednesday features the #2 seed (Stevens) hosting the #3 seed (Misericordia).  The two winners will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed's home site with that winner earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Season Highlights
The Bulldogs enter the postseason with an 18-12 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in the MAC Freedom. Two wins and a MAC Freedom Championship would give DSU its 20th 20+ win season and the 10th under head coach Michele Zabinski.  DSU has been led by its two middle hitters this season as junior Caroline Garretson leads the team with 318 kills and a .278 hitting percentage and sophomore Shannon McDevitt has 260 kills and a .295 hitting percentage. Junior Delanie Zohler is third with 217 kills.
