Women's Basketball Rolls by Arcadia, 74-30, in Home Opener

Center Valley, PA (December 4, 2021) - The DeSales University women's basketball team made its 2021-22 season home debut rolling past Arcadia University, 74-30, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 70, Arcadia - 30
  • Records: DeSales (4-3, 2-0 MAC Freedom); Arcadia (1-5, 0-2 MAC Freedom)
  • DeSales has now won 16-straight games at home dating back to last season. 
  • DSU is also now 20-1 vs. Arcadia all-time, winning its fifth straight in the series.
How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs were in control of this one from the very beginning taking an 18-4 lead after one quarter and led 41-12 at the halftime break.
  • DSU held the Knights to just 4-for-22 shooting in the first-half.
  • DeSales out-scored AU by 10 in the third quarter and cruised to the finish line in the fourth.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Senior Averi Jordan led all scorers with 15 points and added seven rebounds.
  • Junior Megan Bealer and sophomore Amelia Saunders each added 12 points and Bealer led all players on the glass with nine rebounds.
  • First-year Kelsey Gemmill had nine points and four steals off the bench.
For the Foes
  • Kylie Meredith led the Knights with nine points.
Inside the Box Score
  • The Bulldogs shot 40.9 percent from the field and held Arcadia to just 21.2 percent shooting.
  • DSU out-rebounded AU, 46-35, and out-scored the Knights, 38-12, in the paint.
  • DeSales forced 28 turnovers and scored 33 points off those turnovers.
