Women's Basketball Rolls to Sixth Straight Win; 74-27 at Arcadia

Glenside, PA (February 26, 2021) - The DeSales University women's basketball team turned in another suffocating defensive performance holding Arcadia University to just 21.4 percent shooting in a 74-27 win in MAC Freedom action on Friday evening.

The Basics

  • DeSales has now opened the season with six straight wins by an average margin of victory of 39.2 points per game.
How it Happened
  • DeSales wasted no time taking control yet again scoring the first 10 points of the game and holding a 22-2 lead after one quarter of play.
  • The Bulldogs defense was just dominant in the first-half holding the Knights to just 3-for-29 shooting (10.3 %).
  • Meanwhile offensively, DSU shot 65.5 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes to take a 43-8 lead after two quarters of play.
  • The second-half saw the lead peak at 50 points before the final tally was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Averi Jordan again led the way with 15 points, despite playing just under 17 minutes in the game.
  • No other player scored in double digits but all 11 players in uniform reached the scoring column.
  • Freshman Mikaela Reese and junior Rylie Rittenhouse each had nine.
  • Sophomore Grace Kelleher finished with eight points.
  • Freshman Olivia Scotti played well of the bench with seven points and eight rebounds.

  • Taylor Fritz had eight points to lead the Knights.
