Jordan Nets 28 Helping Women's Basketball Stay Unbeaten in 89-51 over Lycoming

Center Valley, PA (March 12, 2021) - Junior Averi Jordan scored a season-high 28 points and handed out a career-high five assists helping the DeSales University women's basketball team stay unbeaten in an 89-51 win over Lycoming College on Friday evening.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 89; Lycoming - 51
  • Records: DeSales (7-0, 7-0 MAC Freedom); Lycoming (2-2, 2-2 MAC Freedom)
  • The win clinches the top seed in the MAC Freedom Championship game with an opponent to be announced for next week.
How it Happened
  • Once again DeSales took control from the very beginning scoring the first 17 points of the game and holding Lycoming without a field goal until the 1:50 mark of the first quarter.
  • DSU forced the Warriors into 6-for-23 shooting in the first two quarters and raced to a 43-14 halftime advantage.
  • LC played tremendously in the shooting 52.9 percent and scoring 26 points to cut into the halftime deficit but DeSales regained control in the fourth quarter out-scoring Lycoming by 12 to post the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Jordan was outstanding on Friday shooting 9-for-18 from the field and hitting four 3's.
  • Senior Isabel Caruso was also terrific posting the sixth most steals in a game in team history with eight.  She also added a career-high 15 points and handed out four assists.
  • Freshman Mikaela Reese had 14 points, pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, and had three blocks.
  • Freshman Lindsey Welsh made her first career start and totaled eight points, nine rebounds, four assists, and four blocks.
For the Foes
  • Erica Lutz led Lycoming with a double-double, 12 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Allison Wagner also reached double figures with 10 points.
Inside the Box Score
  • The Bulldogs terrorized Lycoming into 34 turnovers for the game leading to 46 points.
  • DSU shot 46.5 percent for the game and was excellent from the free throw line hitting 15-for-18.

  • DeSales finishes up the regular season tomorrow traveling to Lycoming College for the final game of the regular season with tip set for 4:00 pm.
