Glenside, PA (March 13, 2021) - The DeSales University softball opened up the 2021 season dropping both ends of a doubleheader by scores of 3-2 and 9-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Game One
DeSales had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 after an RBI single from seniorÂ
Hallie Muffley and RBI groundout from seniorÂ
Reilly Kerr but Arcadia tied the game each time and came up with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to take game one.
SophomoreÂ
Olivia Ondrejca and Kerr each had two hits in the game one loss. FreshmanÂ
Madasyn Vernier took the loss allowing one unearned run in 1 2/3 innings pitched.
Game Two
Arcadia's offense came alive in game two totaling 14 hits and scoring nine runs en route to the win. AU opened up a 3-0 lead in the first inning and blew the game open with three more in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead.
FreshmanÂ
Amelia Howard had a hit and both RBIs in game two. FreshmanÂ
Alanna Hartzell took the loss allowing four runs over three innings pitched.
