Center Valley, PA (March 21, 2021) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Sunday afternoon falling to King's College by scores of 10-2 and 10-1 on a picture perfect day.
Game One
DeSales took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning on back-to-back RBI doubles from seniorsÂ
Hallie Muffley andÂ
Reilly Kerr but was unable to get anything going the rest of the day with just two runners reaching second base over the final six innings.
King's took the lead for good in the third inning, taking a 3-2 lead, and broke it open in the top of the seventh inning with five runs.
JuniorÂ
Heather Hall took the loss allowing four earned runs over five innings pitched.
Game Two
After the Monarchs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Kerr tied the score in the bottom of the second inning with a solo home run.
King's took contol in the third scoring five times, four of which were unearned after two Bulldog errors in the inning. KC added four tallies in the top of the fifth inning to post the final margin.
FreshmanÂ
Emma Laliberte took the loss allowing five runs (two earned) over 2 1/3 innings pitched. Kerr led the offense going 2-for-2 with a homer and double.
Up Next
The Bulldogs are back in action next weekend when they host Misericordia University in a MAC Freedom DH on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm.
