Center Valley, PA (Mach 27, 2021) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader with Misericordia University on Saturday afternoon.
Game One (L/2-9)
The Cougars put three runs on the board in the first and second innings to take a 6-0 lead and never really looked back.
DSU got one run back in the third inning on an RBI single from sophomoreÂ
Olivia Ondrejca and added another run in the fifth on Ondrejca's second RBI single of the day.
JuniorÂ
Heather Hall took the loss allowing six runs over two innings pitched.
SophomoreÂ
Lily Trexler finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Ondrejca added two hits and two RBIs.
Game Two (L/4-6)
Misericordia once again started quickly scoring six runs over the first three innings to take a 6-0 lead.
DSU got one back in the fourth on an RBI groundout from juniorÂ
Delaney Smith and got back in the game with a two run triple from Trexler and RBI groundout from freshmanÂ
Rebecca Kibler in the sixth inning.
The Bulldogs loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs but were unable to push across the tying runs.
SeniorÂ
Julia Testagrose took the loss allowing four runs over two innings pitched.
Trexler led the way at the plate once again with two hits and two RBIs. FreshmanÂ
Amelia Howard had two hits and freshmanÂ
Megan Burns finished with three hits.
Up Next
Tomorrow's DH at Misericordia has already been postponed because of the weather forecast and will be made up on April 7th. DSU returns to action on Thursday when they host Stevens beginning at 3:00 pm.
