Center Valley, PA (March 27, 2021) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team saw its undefeated record come to an end falling to #6 York College (PA), 16-8, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- DSU scored the first goal of the game and were tied late in the first quarter before the Spartans score two quick goals to end the quarter and opened the second quarter with a goal to take a 5-2 lead.
- Trailing 7-3, seniors Zach Bowen and Matt Motto each scored to pull the Bulldogs within two goals but York got two more before the half to take a 9-5 lead into the locker room.
- DeSales scored two of the first three goals of the third quarter to once again get within three goals at the 13:12 mark (10-7) but the Spartans scored three of the next four goals to end the third quarter and shut out the Bulldogs in the fourth to provide the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Motto was outstanding on offense scoring once and adding five assists.
- Bowen scored four times and junior Kai Taylor had a goal and an assist.
- Junior Chase Yoder and freshman Christian Chiulli also scored.
- Yoder won 8-of-14 face-offs and had a team-high six ground balls.
- Freshman Quinten Lyons made 17 saves in between the pipes.
For the Foes
- Brendan O'Sullivan had five goals and an assist and Dylan Wolf finished with three goals and an assist.
- Will Harnick scored three times and Eric Ranck handed out three helpers.
- Jarrod Marenger finished with two goals and an assist.
- Vinny Facciponti was 14-for-28 in face-offs and had seven ground balls.
- Ryan Kennedy finished with four caused turnovers.
Inside the Box Score
- York out-shot DeSales, 53-22 and had 41-29 advantage in ground balls.
- Each team won 14-of-28 face-offs.
- DeSales was hurt by committing 25 turnovers, compared to just 16 for York.
