Timmy Edwards scored a game-high 30 points leading the DeSales University men's basketball team to its eighth straight win to start the season in a 86-71 win over Eastern University in non-conference action on Friday evening.

How it Happened
- It was a back and forth start to the game with the host Eagles holding a 20-16 lead 11:27 into the game.
- A three from Edwards started a 7-0 run giving the Bulldogs a 23-20 lead and DSU finished the half on an 8-0 run to extend a four-point advantage into a 43-31 lead at the halftime break.
- Eastern cut the margin down to seven early in the second-half but Edwards led a 10-3 run scoring eight points giving DeSales a 55-41 lead with 15:18 left.
- The lead never below 12 the rest of the game peaked at 21 points at the 6:30 mark (80-59) before the final was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Edwards shot 14-for-23 from the field and added six rebounds and five assists in the win.
- Junior Keba Mitchell scored 14 points for the second straight night and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds and blocked two more shots.
- Junior Dat Lambert led the pine squad with 14 points, hitting four 3's and freshman Elijah Eberly added 11 points and six rebounds.
- Freshman Mason Barnes finished with six assists.
For the Foes
- Jaron Fairweather finished with a team-high 19 points and five rebounds.
- Kent Olewiler had 13 points off the bench.
- Sam Gallardo and Kaeshawn Ward each had 11 points.
Inside the Box Score
- DSU continues to torch the nets shooting better than 50% from the field yet again at 57.1 percent.
- The Bulldogs owned the paint out-scoring Eastern, 56-30.
