Softball Sweeps DH with Delaware Valley 9-1 and 8-3

Center Valley, PA (April 10, 2021) - The DeSales University softball team swept Delaware Valley University, 9-1 and 8-3, in a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at McGettigan Park.

Game One (W/9-1)
The Bulldogs scored in every inning with senior Reilly Kerr hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to post the eight-run lead and end the game.

Sophomore Olivia Ondrejca got DSU on the board with a two-run homer in the first inning, had an RBI single in the fourth, and fellow sophomore Lily Trexler had a two-run single in the fifth.

Sophomore Victoria Agnoli was a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored and Trexler and Ondrejca each had two hits in the 12-hit attack.

Junior Heather Hall earned the complete-game win allowing just one sixth inning run, scattering seven hits and striking out six.

Game Two (W/8-3)
DSU took a 3-0 lead in the first inning as Angoli tripled and scored on a wild pitch and senior Hallie Muffley had a two-run single later in the inning.

Freshman Megan Burns had a two-run triple in the third inning and a two-run double in the fifth inning, while junior Delaney Smith had an RBI single in the fifth.

Three pitchers combined to allow just three unearned runs and two hits over seven innings.  Hall earned the win pitching three perfect innings, striking out one.  

Angoli had two more hits in game two, Kerr scored twice, Muffley finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Burns stayed hot at the plate going 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

Up Next
Tomorrow's DH at Delaware Valley has already been postponed due to the weather forecast and DSU will return to action on Wednesday when they host Stevens Institute of Technology beginning at 3:00 pm.
