Heather Hall pitched a complete-game shutout in game one and senior
Hallie Muffley had a walk-off single in game one and went 4-for-4 in game two leading the DeSales University softball team to a DH sweep of FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.
Game One (W/1-0)
Hall was outstanding in this one allowing just six hits over seven innings, striking out seven, to improve to 6-3 on the season.
The game was a scoreless tie into the bottom of the seventh inning when sophomore
Olivia Ondrejca doubled to right centerfield to start the inning and Muffley knocked her in with a single up the middle giving DSU a 1-0 win.
Game Two (W/7-2)
DSU took a 5-0 lead early in this one with three runs in the second inning and two more in the third. Senior
Kristen Suran hit a three-run home run in the third inning and sophomore
Chloe Pauls knocked in two with a single in the third inning.
After the Devils scored twice in the fourth inning, the Bulldogs scored solo runs in the sixth, on a bases loaded walk from Pauls, and seventh, on an RBI single from Muffley.
Freshman
Alanna Hartzell earned the win pitching four shutout innings of relief allowing just two hits and striking out two.
