Center Valley, PA (April 21, 2021) - The DeSales University baseball team earned its fourth straight win rolling past King's College 8-1 in MAC Freedom action on a frigid evening that saw rain and snow fall during the game at Weiland Park.
DSU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when seniorÂ
Sergio Diaz singled home sophomoreÂ
Thomas Carpenter before the Monarchs tied it at one in the third.
The Bulldogs broke the tie in the fifth on an RBI single from freshmanÂ
Gavin Zavorski and RBI triple from juniorÂ
Billy Scanlon and broke it open in the sixth plating four more runs. JuniorÂ
Robert Lamm had a two-RBI single, sophomoreÂ
Justus Darville an RBI triple, and Zavorski his second RBI hit of the night.
DeSales added one more in the eighth as Scanlon doubled scoring Diaz who had tripled with one out.
FreshmanÂ
Jared Drake earned his first career win tossing five solid innings allowing just four hits and one run, striking out four. JuniorÂ
Will Manley pitched two strong innings of relief striking out three.
Zavorski, Diaz, Scanlon, freshmanÂ
Liam Kile, and sophomoreÂ
Joe Grigas IVÂ each had two hits in the win.
