Softball Sweeps Road DH at Delaware Valley, 11-0 and 4-2

Doylestown, PA (April 22, 2021) - The DeSales University softball team swept a rare non-conference road doubleheader with MAC Freedom foe Delaware Valley University on a windy and cold Thursday afternoon 11-0 and 4-2.

Game One (W/11-0)
It was all Bulldogs in this one as they scored seven times in the third and four more times in the sixth to earn the shutout win.

Junior Heather Hall tossed her second shutout of the season and improved to 8-3 in the circle allowing just three hits and striking out four.

Senior Kristen Suran, sophomore Kayleigh Ferraro, and sophomore Julianna Garvey all had two RBIs in the game one win, while sophomore Lily Trexler, sophomore Olivia Ondrejca, senior Hallie Muffley, Ferraro all had two hits and Garvey finished with three hits to lead a 15-hit attack.

Game Two (W/4-2)
DSU took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two-RBI single from sophomore Victoria Agnoli and added two more unearned runs in the fourth thanks in part to an Aggie error with two outs to take a 4-0 lead.

Delaware Valley got one run back in the sixth and another in the seventh before senior Julia Testagrose pitched out of the jam leaving the tying run at first base to earn her first win of the year.  She went the distance allowing six hits and striking out 10 over seven innings.

Freshman Alexys Vernier had two hits to lead the six hit attack.

Up Next
The Bulldogs are back at it on Sunday when they host Eastern University in another non-conference doubleheader beginning at Noon.
