Doylestown, PA (April 5, 2021) - The DeSales University baseball team won its 10th and 11th straight games sweeping a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Monday afternoon at Delaware Valley University by scores of 5-2 and 15-2.
Game One (W/5-2)
Senior 
Ian Kacergis gave the Bulldogs their third straight strong start on the bump in the 4-game series with the Aggies tossing 6 1/3 innings allowing just five hits and two unearned runs, striking out four to earn his second win of the year.  Junior 
JJ Paul picked up his second save of the year getting two strikeouts to end the game with the tying run at the plate.
DSU took a 3-0 lead in the third when senior 
Ethan Carmack hit a two-run home run and junior 
Robert Lamm tripled and scored one batter later.
Leading 3-2 in the sixth, DeSales got one in the sixth on an RBI single from senior 
Hunter Spalt and another in the seventh on an RBI single from junior 
Trevor Leamer. 
Carmack finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Lamm had two hits to lead the offensive attack.
Game Two (W/15-2)
The bats did all the work in this one totaling 14 hits and scoring 15 runs to run away with the sweep.
The Bulldogs took a 4-0 lead in the first inning as senior 
Sergio Diaz had an RBI single and sophomore 
Justus Darville had a two-RBI single.
DSU broke it open in the fourth with three runs to make it 7-2 and five more in the fourth to make it 12-2.  Sophomore 
Thomas Carpenter had an RBI double in the third and bases loaded walk in the fourth and Carmack had an RBI single in the third and was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fourth.  Lamm added an RBI single in the fourth and junior 
Billy Scanlon had a sacrifice fly in the third and RBI double in the fourth.
DeSales added three more runs in the ninth to provide the final tally.
Freshman 
Brandon Laino earned his first career win in his first career start pitching five solid innings allowing four hits and two runs, striking out four.  Freshman 
Jared Drake pitched two strong innings of relief striking out five.
Eleven different players had hits in the win including freshman 
Michael Del Sordo, Scanlon, and sophomore 
Colin Trembley with two each.

The Bulldogs are now just three wins shy of tying the all-time record of 14 consecutive wins and will put its 11-game winning streak on the line when they travel to Arcadia University for a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Saturday beginning at Noon.
