Dallas, PA (April 7, 2021) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Misericordia University by scores of 9-0 and 5-4.
Game One (L/0-9)
Misericordia held DeSales to just four hits and scored in each of the first four innings to post the game one win.
FreshmanÂ
Alanna Hartzell suffered the loss in this one allowing all nine runs over 3 1/3 innings pitched.
SeniorÂ
Reilly Kerr was 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the offense.
Game Two (L/4-5)
DeSales led 1-0 in the first after an RBI single off the bat of freshmanÂ
Megan Burns and tied the game at two on Burns second RBI of the game in the fourth.
Tied at two entering the fifth, DSU plated two runs to take a 4-2 lead taking advantage of a few Cougar errors but MU answered right back with three in the bottom half of the inning and DSU was unable to find the tying run over the final two frames.
Burns had two hits along with Kerr, sophomoreÂ
Victoria Agnoli, and seniorÂ
Hallie Muffley in the loss.
SeniorÂ
Julia Testagrose suffered the loss in relief allowing one run over 1 2/3 innings. JuniorÂ
Heather Hall allowed two earned over 4 1/3 innings pitched, striking out two.
