Center Valley, PA (September 11, 2021) - Nine different players found the back of the net leading the DeSales University women's soccer team past Gwynedd-Mercy University, 9-0, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 9, Gwynedd-Mercy - 0
• Records: DeSales (4-0); Gwynedd-Mercy (0-3)
• DSU scores the second most goals in a game, one shy of tying the single-game record of 10.  It is the third time in team history the Bulldogs have scored nine goals.
• DeSales opens a season 4-0 for just the second time in team history, joining the 2010 team who also started 4-0.

How it Happened

• The Bulldogs dominated possession and play all game long as junior Allie Trick opened the scoring just 1:20 into the game on an assist from senior Vanessa Atie and the two made it 2-0 reversing roles with Atie scoring on a feed from Trick at the 8:23 mark.
• DSU scored four more goals in the first-half to take a 6-0 lead into halftime and added three more in the second-half to provide the final tally.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Trick and Atie each finished the game with a goal and an assist.
• Also scoring for DeSales was senior Meghan Corban, junior Katie Padgett, first-year Emma Ribeiro, sophomore Jordan Lewis, junior Mackenzie Murphy, first-year Tori Harnett, and sophomore Meagan Byrne.
• Junior Sam Monteforte, senior Natalie Dorsheimer, Murphy, sophomore Alexandria Gardner, first-year Haley Russell all had assists in the win.
• The sophomore goal keeping combination of Jozlyn Minnema and Hannah Pacheco combined for DSU's third shutout of the season with Pacheco making the only save.

For the Foes

• Claudia Krouse had GMU's lone shot.
• Molly Flemming made four saves in the first-half.

• DSU dominated possession and had a 28-1 advantage in shots and took all seven corner kicks.
