Pollick/Beck Highlight Men's Tennis at MAC Individual Tournament

Wilkes-Barre, PA (September 18, 2021) - Junior Will Pollick and senior Nolan Beck highlighted the DeSales University men's tennis team competing at the MAC Individual Tournament over the weekend as the duo advanced to the #2 doubles flight championship match.

Singles
#1 Singles
Citrone advanced to the semifinals at the No. 1 singles flight with a 4-3 (7-3), 4-1 wiin over Bryan Levi (Eastern) in the first round and earned a spot in the semifinals with a 4-0, 1-1 win because of an injury retirement to the #4 seed, Jonathan Carasso (FDU-Florham).  Citrone lost in the semifinals on Sunday, Vivek Harinarayan of Stevens, 6-3, 6-0.

#2 Singles
Junior Will Pollick lost in the first round, 4-1, 4-2 to Nick Putney of Wilkes University.

#3 Singles
Senior Nolan Beck lost a hard fought match in the first round, 4-1, 2-4, 1-0 (10-8) to Nate Rathe of Wilkes University.

#4 Singles
Senior Charlie Carbonetto dropped his first round match to Jacob Devage of Eastern University, 4-2, 4-1.

#5 Singles
Junior Thomas Blomquist fell to the #1 seed, Olof Persson (Stevens), 4-0, 4-0.

#6 Singles
Junior Ethan McCombs earned a 4-0, 4-3 (7-4) win over Sebastian Klimitchev (Lycoming College) in the opening round before falling to the top seed, Eloi Pradier (Stevens), 4-0, 4-0.

#7 Singles
First-Year Zachary Marshall earned a BYE in the first round but fell to AJ Swanson of Messiah University, 4-1, 4-2 in the quarterfinals.

Doubles
#1 Doubles

Citrone and Blomquist earned an 8-0 win over Gainder/Serpa (Albright) in the opening round and advanced to the semifinals on Sunday with an 8-1 win over Gregory/Lennon (King's) in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals on Sunday, the duo fell to Morris/Feliu of Stevens, 8-2.

#2 Doubles
Pollick/Beck earned the #3 seed and won 8-3 in the opening round over Dorsey/Griffin (York) and advanced to the semifinals with an 8-3 win over Levi/Lopez (Eastern).  The combo earned a spot in the championship match with an 8-3 win over Sanidas/Smialek of Stevenson before falling to Klakami/Persson of Stevens, 8-1, on Sunday afternoon.

#3 Doubles
Carbonetto and McCombs teamed to win 8-1 in the opening round but fell to the top seed, Wroe/Zhang (Stevens), 8-1 in the quarterfinals.

#4 Doubles
First-Year Alessio Flores and Marshall lost in the opening round, 8-1, to Pabalan/Pradier (Stevens).
