Field Hockey Comeback Falls Short in 2-1 Loss to FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom Opener

Center Valley, PA (September 25, 2021) - The DeSales University field hockey team fell just short falling 2-1 to FDU-Florham in the MAC Freedom opener on Saturday afternoon.

  • Records: FDU-Florham (6-2, 1-0 Conf.); DeSales (4-4, 0-1 Conf.)
  • The Bulldogs fall to 4-16 all-time vs. the Devils.
How it Happened
  • After a scoreless first quarter, FDU got on the board when Haleigh Flukey tipped home a shot off a corner feed 3:58 into the second quarter and that lead stood into the half.
  • The Devils got an insurance goal at 36:03 scoring on a penalty stroke, once again off the stick of Flukey.
  • The Bulldogs wasted no time getting that goal back, scoring just 25 seconds later as junior Tyra Wingle tipped home her eight goal of the year.
  • DeSales was unable to find the tying goal despite dominating possession and shots, especially in the second-half.

  • Syndey Moskal had an assist.
  • Megan March was outstanding in goal making 11 saves to keep the Devils in the game.
