Center Valley, PA (September 29, 2021) - The DeSales University field hockey team dropped its third straight game falling to Montclair State University, 5-2, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 5, Montclair State - 2
• Records: DeSales (4-5); Montclair State (5-3)
• This was the second career meeting between the two teams with MSU winning both.

How it Happened

• DeSales dominated the shot chart but MSU dominated the goals in the first-half scoring three times despite the Bulldogs out-shooting MSU, 10-4 in the opening half.
• The Bulldogs came out strong in the second-half scoring twice in the span of 2:08 to start the third quarter to get within one goal.
• The Red Hawks had the answer however, scoring with 1:08 left in the third quarter and once more in the fourth to provide the final tally.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Junior Tyra Wingle scored DSU's first goal, her ninth of the year, on an assist from fellow junior Catie McGrath.
• Junior Grace DeThomas had the second goal, her third of the season.
• Junior Gianna Duddy and sophomore Kayla Yeatman each made one save in one half of play.

For the Foes

• Carlie Van Tassel had a hat trick to lead the Red Hawks.
• Lindsey Bicher had one goal and one assist.
• Lauren Pickul made 12 saves in goal.

Inside the Box Score

• The Bulldogs out-shot Montclair State, 24-13, and had a healthy 12-3 advantage in penalty corners.
