Chestertown, MD (September 5, 2021) - The DeSales University men's soccer team took an early lead in both halves but were unable to hold on late falling to Rutgers-Newark, 4-2, on day two of the tournament at Washington College (MD)

- The Bulldogs took a lead very early as junior Dimeji Oyinkolade scored 53 seconds into the game on a header off an assist from fellow junior Caden Sundermann.
- Rutgers-Newark tied the game in the 23rd minute as that score stood into the half.
- Oyinkolade struck again in the 56th minute giving DSU a 2-1 lead scoring on a loose ball off a defender.
- That lead stood into the 67th minute when Newark took control scoring three times in 16 minutes to take home the 4-2 win.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Oyinkolade scored DSU's first two goals of the year in the win after leading the Bulldogs in scoring two years ago.
- Sundermann earns an assist in his second game since transferring this season from Wesley College.
- Sophomore Tyler Horton made eight saves in between the pipes.

- Rutgers-Newark got two goals from Ryan Caruso and Franco Catania.
