Haverford, PA (September 8, 2021) - The DeSales University field hockey team dropped its first game of the season at Haverford College, 3-2, in overtime in non-conference action.

How it Happened

• DeSales took a 1-0 lead 3:40 into the second quarter when junior Grace DeThomas scored on a deflection off a penalty corner.
• The Fords answered with two goals before the half to take a 2-1 lead into the locker room.
• Junior Tyra Wingle evened the scored at two with five minutes left in the third quarter and neither team was able to score in the fourth.
• Both teams had chances in OT before Haverford eventually broke thru on a shot from the endline that snuck just past the Bulldog keeper inside the far post.

Top Bulldog Performers

• DeThomas goal was the first of her career and Wingle's tally was her fourth this season.
• Junior Ashlee Jopp and sophomore Maddie Trocki each had assists in the loss.
• Junior Gianna Duddy made 11 saves in the cage.

For the Foes

• Anna Kim scored the Fords' two regulation goals.
• Ravenel Davis had the game-winner in OT.
